Halloween Fun Wormshill Style!

Saturday night was fright night for our family and friends, so we donned Halloween garb and drove out through the countryside surrounding Wormshill to partake of some spooktacular fun at Fiona and Simon's 'All Hallowes Eve' party.  I hope you enjoy this private peek into the party from our family album, courtesy of my talented youngest photographer sister Laura and my daughter Fay ...

'The Blue Witch' ... aka me!

I had to cackle as I entered the house because my nieces failed to recognise their Auntie Paula ... seems my grey wig confused them big time, lol!

Halloween Husband!

Fiona and Simon went to great lengths to dress their house in fabulous Halloween style and we all had a fun night partying way past the 'Witching hour'.

Hannah's Halloween cake masterpiece tasted every bit as good as it looked!

Thanks for the fantastic Halloween party you two, but more importantly, thank you both so much for doing what you always do so well ... bringing our families together to share fun, laughter and friendship.
Much love to you, from us all xxx

Thanks also to my youngest sister Laura and her husband Keith, for capturing our special memories in such beautiful photographs!

Gee Wiz!

With Halloween fun and games at the front of my mind this week, I couldn't resist squeezing a little Halloween Tiddler bear into my schedule.

8.5" 'Wiz'

So this is 'Wiz', a handful of cheeky mischief at just 8.5"!

If you would like to adopt 'Wiz' please visit my website for full details: www.allbear.co.uk

My sister is hosting a Halloween party again this year, so my next task will be to titivate a witch hat with silver and blue stars for my 'blue witch' costume, make a special flashing collar for Polly to wear and attach her 'Halloween Fairy' wings to a dog harness - I'm not holding out too much hope the fairy wings will survive bouncing around with her German Shepherd pal Bugsy on the night though!

Update: Wiz has been adopted

Cover Star!

I have been fortunate enough to have my work recognised many times over the years with various international awards, published articles and the like, but there have remained one or two personal 'bucket list' achievements I privately hoped might still happen.

'Big Ted' the Chiltern Hugmee bear who started my teddy career,
holding the 'UK Teddy Bear Guide', featuring 'Chester' on the cover!

So I am thrilled to say, yesterday I was able to tick one such honour off my list when the 27th annual edition of the Hugglets' 'UK Teddy Bear Guide' dropped through my letterbox featuring my bear 'Chester' as its cover star ... this guide is the essential resource for all teddy bear lovers, so to have my bear chosen to represent the teddy bear industry for 2014 is a huge thrill!

If you would like to purchase a copy of the '2014 UK Teddy Bear Guide', please visit www.hugglets.co.uk for details of how to order.

Cornish Time!

I first holidayed in Cornwall way back in 1985 and since then have returned many times.  It's a magical county where rugged coastal scenery and ancient fishing villages steal your breath away ... and I love the pace of life there! 'Cornish Time' takes a breath, offers pause to think and absorb the best life has to offer and that is why I revisit, time and time again.

Padstow Harbour

This year we stayed in a little village just outside Padstow and for the first time ever, took Polly on holiday with us.

Trevone Bay

We hiked across cliffs, visited a couple of our favourite village haunts, explored the beach with Polly for first time and generally, spent our week breathing in the spectacular Cornish coastline.  I really don't think there's anywhere in the world I would rather have been last week!

Bedruthan Steps

Port Isaac

Boscastle

Polly loved her first ever Cornish holiday and we loved sharing our outings with her.  If you would like to see more of her photographs and read about her holiday experiences, please visit Polly's blog at: POLLY'S PROGRESS

On Padstow Beach with Polly

Should you ever have the opportunity to visit Cornwall please take it! It is a wonderful holiday destination with so much to see and do in all weathers and best of all, it offers a chance to 'stop the world' for a while, to recharge with the simple things in life, fresh air, unspoiled scenery and heaps of fun!

Hey Diddle, Dudley!

They have been a long time coming, but at last I can share my latest collection of shop exclusive bears with you!

Introducing Elsie, Finn, Diddle and Dudley, now available at the 'Teddy Bear Hollow' shop in Loughborough, Leicestershire.  Elsie is the 13" white alpaca girl bear wearing a hand knitted dress, Finn is a cute 12" tipped mohair bear wearing a sweet hand knitted collar and both Diddle (pink mohair) and Dudley (brown alpaca) are my Tiddler size, at an adorable 8.5" inches.  It was fun to make this little crew and to knit their little autumnal bits 'n pieces ... I hope you like them!

The Great Brighton Teddy Bear Event

I was delighted when Katherine Hallam of 'Katie Rae Bears' rang me to tell me she would be organising a special Christmas teddy bear show in Brighton this year.  This multi-talented lady is a not only a great motivator of people, as well as being an established contemporary bear artist in her own right, she has also proved herself to be a terrific show and event promoter too, so I was certain this would be a bear show well worth participating in.

Besides which, the venue is only an hour's drive away from where I live and it's right beside the seaside, which even in the midst of winter, promises to be enchanting!

This won't just be any old bear show, this will be a magical show with twinkle and sparkle, so I will be setting up a Christmas tree on my stand and creating some special, one-off Christmas teddy bears especially for our show visitors.

Please book your show ticket soon and come along to share some special Christmas teddy bear magic with us!
